In the Den with the Lions

"Now when Daniel knew that the document was signed, he entered his house (now in his roof chamber he had windows open toward Jerusalem); and he continued kneeling on his knees three times a day, praying and giving thanks before his God, as he had been doing previously."

Read Daniel chapter 6 and then answer the following questions:

  1. Compare and contrast what is known about the reigns and rulerships of Darius and Nebuchadnezzar.
  2. Are there any prophecies that pertain to Darius' reign?
  3. It is mentioned that Daniel turns towards Jerusalem when he prays. Why might that be significant?
  4. Darius issues two decrees in this chapter. Are there any parallel passages to the first of these as represented in verse 6:7?
  5. Most Christians have had similar experiences to those described in the chapter. Based on your own life story, expand, or refute this statement.
