Wind.
Dried up waters after the flood in Gen 8:1
East wind dries up in visions in Gen 41.
East wind brings locusts in Ex 10, and a west wind
carries them away
East wind parts Yam Suph in Ex 14.
Wind brings in Quail in Num 11:31
Represented under direct control of God as in Psalm
78:26 speaking of the Exodus; He contains the wind in
his storehouses Psalm 135:7; Prov 30:4; Jer 10:13 &
51:16
God soars on the wings of the wind in 2Sam22:11 & Psalm
18 & Psalm 104:3
Wind accompanies the rain after the 3.5yr drought 1Kings18:45
(almost certainly a west wind from over the great sea)
Elijah expects to find God in the mighty wind, but does
not 1Kings19:11
Wind brings calamity on Job 1:19, collapsing his house.
And later empty words are called "blustering wind" 6:26
& 8:2
A scorching wind is the lot of the wicked, together with
fiery coals and burning sulphur Psalm 11.
In many of the Psalms the wicked are blown in the wind,
i.e. 68:2, 83:13
North wind brings rain Prov 25:23;
South wind brings heat Luke 12:55;
East wind brings drought (Arabian Desert);
?West wind brings ???? (Mediterranean Sea) -- never
mentioned???
Ecclesiastes represents futility using the expression
"chasing after the wind"; also notably used in this
matter by Hosea 8:7, 12:1, 13:15
No man has power over the wind to contain it Ec 8:8; in
fact the path of the wind is unknown to man Ec 11:5.
*** precedes the returning of Christ ***
Song of Solomon 4:16
"Awake, north wind, and come, south wind! Blow on my
garden, that its fragrance may spread abroad. Let my
lover come into his garden and taste its choice fruits."
Often in the context of an instrument of judgement in
Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel -- themes related to those
already discussed above. i.e. Jer 30:23
All directions as in Ezek 5:2
East wind a threat to mariners Ezek 27:26,
also ships of Tarshish Psalm 48:7.
*** footnote indicates that same Hebrew word is sometimes
translated breath, wind, spirit.
Ezek 37:5 "This is what the Sovereign
LORD says to these bones: I will make breath" [ 37:5 The
Hebrew for this word can also mean [wind] or [spirit]
(see verses 6-14). ] "enter you, and you will come to
life." ; this theme is also connected in John 3:8 where
the mystery of the wind is attributed to those born of
the Spirit. Again, in Acts 2:2 the Holy Spirit arrives
as a violent wind.
*** Dan 2:35 wind sweeps away the remnants of
Nebuchadnezzar's statue.
Lord causes the wind upon the sea in Jonah 1:4. Then
later causes the scorching east wind.
In Mark 4:39 Jesus speaks to the wind, and it becomes
calm.
Signifies instability, i.e. every wind of teaching Eph

Revelation 7:1
After this I saw four angels standing at the four
corners of the earth, holding back the four winds of the
earth to prevent any wind from blowing on the land or on
the sea or on any tree.
-
Sea.
the Spirit of God hovering over the face of the waters
Gen 1:2. The place where the waters are gathered is
then referred to as the sea 1:10.
Later the people of God escape slavery and probable
death through Yam Suph Ex 14, the same destroys the
Egyption army.
The Great Sea is the western boundary of the Holy Land
Numbers 34:6; the southern boundary Joshua 15:4 is also
a sea, the eastern boundary is the Salt Sea 15:5; the
northern boundary bay of the sea at the mouth of the
Jordan.
The Sea was a placed by Solomon in the front of the temple
1 Kings 7 & 2 Chron 4. The sea was supported by a dozen
bulls, three in each compass rose. NIV uses upper case
S on sea in this context. Later the Babylonians carry
it away into exile 2Kings25. This is then seen again in
Revelation 4:6
"Also before the throne there was what looked like a sea
of glass, clear as crystal."
Isaiah 17
12 "Oh, the raging of many nations-
they rage like the raging sea!
Oh, the uproar of the peoples-
they roar like the roaring of great waters!"
13 "Although the peoples roar like the roar of surging
waters,
when he rebukes them they flee far away,
driven before the wind like chaff on the hills,
like tumbleweed before a gale. "
Isa 23:11 The Lord has stretched out his hand over the sea
and made its kingdoms tremble.
Isaiah 57:20
But the wicked are like the tossing sea, which cannot
rest, whose waves cast up mire and mud.

ride on their horses; they come like men in battle
formation to attack you, O Daughter of Zion."
Habakkuk 3:15
You trampled the sea with your horses, churning the
great waters.
Also Jer 50:42;
Jonah gets thrown into the tempestuous sea, only to
spend three days in the belly of a great fish. Jesus
gets thrown to the tempestuous mob, only to spend three
days in Hades.
Jesus' reign will be from sea to sea:
Zechariah 9:10
I will take away the chariots from Ephraim and the
war-horses from Jerusalem, and the battle bow will be
broken. He will proclaim peace to the nations. His rule
will extend from sea to sea and from the River [ 9:10
That is, the Euphrates ] to the ends of the earth. [
9:10 Or [ the end of the land ] ]
A sign of His return:
Luke 21:25
"There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars. On the
earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the
roaring and tossing of the sea.
1 Corinthians 10:2
They were all baptized into Moses in the cloud and in
the sea.
Unstable people:
James 1:6
But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because
he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and
tossed by the wind.
The 'sea' is done away with in the end:
Revelation 21:1
Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first
heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there
was no longer any sea.
-

of a lion. The dragon gave the beast his power and his
throne and great authority.

have had a fatal wound, but the fatal wound had been
healed. The whole world was astonished and followed

inhabitants worship the first beast, whose fatal wound
had been healed.
Revelation 13:14 Because of the signs he was given
power to do on behalf of the first beast, he deceived
the inhabitants of the earth. He ordered them to set up

State of the heart is the very essence of the scripture,
as can be seen in

turned on me, I seized it by its hair, struck it and
killed it.
Said of David by Absolom's men:

he shuts out my prayer.
9 He has barred my way with blocks of stone;
he has made my paths crooked.
10 Like a bear lying in wait,
like a lion in hiding,
11 he dragged me from the path and mangled me
and left me without help.
12 He drew his bow
and made me the target for his arrows.
Hosea 13
4 "But I am the Lord your God,
who brought you out of [2] Egypt.
You shall acknowledge no God but me,
no Savior except me.
5 I cared for you in the desert,
in the land of burning heat.
6 When I fed them, they were satisfied;
when they were satisfied, they became proud;
then they forgot me.
7 So I will come upon them like a lion,
like a leopard I will lurk by the path.
8 Like a bear robbed of her cubs,
I will attack them and rip them open.
Like a lion I will devour them;

of birds, he is to offer a dove or a young pigeon. 15

head and burn it on the altar; its blood shall be
drained out on the side of the altar. 16 He is to
remove the crop with its contents [2] and throw it to
the east side of the altar, where the ashes are. 17
He shall tear it open by the wings, not severing it
completely, and then the priest shall burn it on the
wood that is on the fire on the altar. It is a burnt
offering, an offering made by fire, an aroma pleasing
to the Lord .

ground. 22 Of these you may eat any kind of locust,
katydid, cricket or grasshopper. 23 But all other
winged creatures that have four legs you are to detest.
Divine nuture Deuteronomy 32:
10 In a desert land he found him,
in a barren and howling waste.
He shielded him and cared for him;
he guarded him as the apple of his eye,
11 like an eagle that stirs up its nest
and hovers over its young,
that spreads its wings to catch them
and carries them on its pinions.
12 The Lord alone led him;
no foreign god was with him.
13 He made him ride on the heights of the land
and fed him with the fruit of the fields.
He nourished him with honey from the rock,
and with oil from the flinty crag,
14 with curds and milk from herd and flock
and with fattened lambs and goats,
with choice rams of Bashan
and the finest kernels of wheat.
You drank the foaming blood of the grape.

wings of the wind.
Escape as in Psalm 139
7 Where can I go from your Spirit?
Where can I flee from your presence?
8 If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
if I make my bed in the depths, [1] you are there.
9 If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
if I settle on the far side of the sea,
10 even there your hand will guide me,
your right hand will hold me fast.
And in
Ruth 2:12
May the Lord repay you for what you have done. May you
be richly rewarded by the Lord , the God of Israel,
under whose wings you have come to take refuge."

Wings speak of military dominance as in Isaiah 8:
6 "Because this people has rejected
the gently flowing waters of Shiloah
and rejoices over Rezin
and the son of Remaliah,
7 therefore the Lord is about to bring against them
the mighty floodwaters of the River [2] -
the king of Assyria with all his pomp.
It will overflow all its channels,
run over all its banks
8 and sweep on into Judah, swirling over it,
passing through it and reaching up to the neck.
Its outspread wings will cover the breadth of your
land,
O Immanuel [3] !"

but those who hope in the Lord will renew their
strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will
run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
Babylon and Egypt are eagles with powerful wings in Ezek
17.
The wings mystically transport iniquity to Babylonia in
Zechariah 5:
5 Then the angel who was speaking to me came forward
and said to me, "Look up and see what this is that is
appearing."
6 I asked, "What is it?"
He replied, "It is a measuring basket. [2] " And he
added, "This is the iniquity [3] of the people
throughout the land."
7 Then the cover of lead was raised, and there in the
basket sat a woman! 8 He said, "This is wickedness,"
and he pushed her back into the basket and pushed the
lead cover down over its mouth.
9 Then I looked up-and there before me were two women,
with the wind in their wings! They had wings like those
of a stork, and they lifted up the basket between
heaven and earth.
10 "Where are they taking the basket?" I asked the
angel who was speaking to me.
11 He replied, "To the country of Babylonia [4] to
build a house for it. When it is ready, the basket will
be set there in its place."
This concept seems related to Revelation 17.
Malachi 4:2
But for you who revere my name, the sun of righteousness
will rise with healing in its wings. And you will go out
and leap like calves released from the stall.

Iron.
Purified by fire: Numbers 31
Then Eleazar the priest said to the soldiers who had
gone into battle, "This is the requirement of the law
that the Lord gave Moses: 22 Gold, silver, bronze,
iron, tin, lead 23 and anything else that can
withstand fire must be put through the fire, and then
it will be clean. But it must also be purified with the
water of cleansing. And whatever cannot withstand fire
must be put through that water.
Recognized murder weapon:
Numbers 35:16
" 'If a man strikes someone with an iron object so that
he dies, he is a murderer; the murderer shall be put to
death.
Deuteronomy 4:20
But as for you, the Lord took you and brought you out of

stones. Do not use any iron tool upon them.
Joshua 8:31
as Moses the servant of the Lord had commanded the
Israelites. He built it according to what is written in
the Book of the Law of Moses-an altar of uncut stones,
on which no iron tool had been used. On it they offered
to the Lord burnt offerings and sacrificed fellowship
offerings. [ 8:31 Traditionally [ peace offerings ] ]
1 Kings 6:7
In building the temple, only blocks dressed at the
quarry were used, and no hammer, chisel or any other

Strength of judgement Deuteronomy 28:
45 All these curses will come upon you. They will
pursue you and overtake you until you are destroyed,
because you did not obey the Lord your God and observe
the commands and decrees he gave you. 46 They will be
a sign and a wonder to you and your descendants
forever. 47 Because you did not serve the Lord your
God joyfully and gladly in the time of prosperity, 48
therefore in hunger and thirst, in nakedness and dire
poverty, you will serve the enemies the Lord sends
against you. He will put an iron yoke on your neck
until he has destroyed you.
49 The Lord will bring a nation against you from far
away, from the ends of the earth, like an eagle
swooping down, a nation whose language you will not
understand, 50 a fierce-looking nation without respect
for the old or pity for the young. 51 They will devour
the young of your livestock and the crops of your land
until you are destroyed. They will leave you no grain,
new wine or oil, nor any calves of your herds or lambs
of your flocks until you are ruined. 52 They will lay
siege to all the cities throughout your land until the
high fortified walls in which you trust fall down. They
will besiege all the cities throughout the land the
Lord your God is giving you.

you horns of iron ; I will give you hoofs of bronze and

Lord of all the earth.
Cannot hold back the evil spirits:
Mark 5:4
For he had often been chained hand and foot, but he tore
the chains apart and broke the irons on his feet. No one
was strong enough to subdue him.
Iron cannot contain the angels:
Acts 12:10
They passed the first and second guards and came to the
iron gate leading to the city. It opened for them by
itself, and they went through it. When they had walked
the length of one street, suddenly the angel left him.
Exposure to teachings of demons desensitizes :
1 Timothy 4:2
Such teachings come through hypocritical liars, whose
consciences have been seared as with a hot iron.

belong to our God and become leaders in Judah, and Ekron
will be like the Jebusites.

firstborn; put your right hand on his head."
Exodus 6:25
Eleazar son of Aaron married one of the daughters of
Putiel, and she bore him Phinehas. These were the heads
of the Levite families, clan by clan.
Passover observance was to be the sign on Israel's
forehead:
Exodus 13
7 Eat unleavened bread during those seven days; nothing
with yeast in it is to be seen among you, nor shall any
yeast be seen anywhere within your borders. 8 On that
day tell your son, 'I do this because of what the Lord
did for me when I came out of Egypt.' 9 This
observance will be for you like a sign on your hand and
a reminder on your forehead that the law of the Lord is
to be on your lips. For the Lord brought you out of
Egypt with his mighty hand. 10 You must keep this
ordinance at the appointed time year after year.
Leviticus 1:4

naked; they will eat her flesh and burn her with fire.
-
Wheel.
The most frequent use of wheel is with reference to
chariots, iron and bronze -- used by mighty and powerful
kings in war. Many references to this, I will gloss
over for now.
Sacred use of wheels are for the ten mobile stands in
the temple as discribed in 1 Kings 7:
27 He also made ten movable stands of bronze; each was
four cubits long, four wide and three high. [19] 28
This is how the stands were made: They had side panels
attached to uprights. 29 On the panels between the
uprights were lions, bulls and cherubim-and on the
uprights as well. Above and below the lions and bulls
were wreaths of hammered work. 30 Each stand had four
bronze wheels with bronze axles, and each had a basin
resting on four supports, cast with wreaths on each
side. 31 On the inside of the stand there was an
opening that had a circular frame one cubit [20] deep.
This opening was round, and with its basework it
measured a cubit and a half. [21] Around its opening
there was engraving. The panels of the stands were
square, not round. 32 The four wheels were under the
panels, and the axles of the wheels were attached to
the stand. The diameter of each wheel was a cubit and a
half. 33 The wheels were made like chariot wheels; the
axles, rims, spokes and hubs were all of cast metal.
34 Each stand had four handles, one on each corner,
projecting from the stand. 35 At the top of the stand
there was a circular band half a cubit [22] deep. The
supports and panels were attached to the top of the
stand. 36 He engraved cherubim, lions and palm trees on
the surfaces of the supports and on the panels, in
every available space, with wreaths all around. 37 This
is the way he made the ten stands. They were all cast
in the same molds and were identical in size and shape.
38 He then made ten bronze basins, each holding forty
baths [23] and measuring four cubits across, one basin
to go on each of the ten stands. 39 He placed five of
the stands on the south side of the temple and five on
the north. He placed the Sea on the south side, at the
southeast corner of the temple.
The millstone is sometimes referred to as a wheel as in
Proverbs 20:26
A wise king winnows out the wicked; he drives the
threshing wheel over them.
Wheel is an instrument of creation as we see in
Jeremiah 18:3
So I went down to the potter's house, and I saw him
working at the wheel.
Wheels play prominently in Ezekial's visions as in
Ezekiel 1:16
This was the appearance and structure of the wheels:
They sparkled like chrysolite, and all four looked
alike. Each appeared to be made like a wheel
intersecting a wheel.
Ezekiel 10:6
When the LORD commanded the man in linen, "Take fire
from among the wheels, from among the cherubim," the man
went in and stood beside a wheel.
Ezekiel 10:12
Their entire bodies, including their backs, their hands
and their wings, were completely full of eyes, as were
their four wheels.
-
A season.
The appointed time for something, is the typical usage.
Many references exist to the times and festivals
throughout the year, but occassionally is refers to a
period of time outside of the annual framework.
Using YLT:
Habakkuk 2:3
For yet the vision [is] for a season, And it breatheth
for the end, and doth not lie, If it tarry, wait for it,
For surely it cometh, it is not late.
Acts 1:7
and he said unto them, `It is not yours to know times or
seasons that the Father did appoint in His own
authority;
Acts 13:11
and now, lo, a hand of the Lord [is] upon thee, and thou
shalt be blind, not seeing the sun for a season;' and
presently there fell upon him a mist and darkness, and
he, going about, was seeking some to lead [him] by the
hand;
2 Timothy 4:3
for there shall be a season when the sound teaching they
will not suffer, but according to their own desires to
themselves they shall heap up teachers -- itching in the
hearing,
Hebrews 11:25
having chosen rather to be afflicted with the people of
God, than to have sin's pleasure for a season,
-
A time.
Exodus 9:5
and Jehovah setteth an appointed time, saying, To-morrow
doth Jehovah do this thing in the land.'
Judges 11:4
And it cometh to pass, after a time, that the Bene-Ammon
fight with Israel,
Hannah's annual trip to the temple, the
time of her going:
1 Samuel 1:7
And so he doth year by year, from the time of her going
up into the house of Jehovah, so it provoketh her, and
she weepeth, and doth not eat.
The time of life, i.e. gestation:
2 Kings 4:16
and he saith, `At this season, according to the time of
life, thou art embracing a son;' and she saith, `Nay, my
lord, O man of God, do not lie unto thy maid-servant.'
Esther 1:13
And the king saith to wise men, knowing the times -- for
so [is] the word of the king before all knowing law and
judgment,
Psalm 21:9
Thou makest them as a furnace of fire, At the time of
Thy presence. Jehovah in His anger doth swallow them,
And fire doth devour them.
What are my times? Possibly years?
Psalm 31:15
In Thy hand [are] my times, Deliver me from the hand of
my enemies, And from my pursuers.
Psalm 69:13 And I -- my prayer [is] to Thee, O Jehovah,
A time of good pleasure, O God, In the abundance of
Thy kindness, Answer me in the truth of Thy salvation.
Psalm 81:15
Those hating Jehovah feign obedience to Him, But their
time is -- to the age.
A time for everything Ecc 3
An age:
Isaiah 9:1 As the former time made light The land
of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, So the latter
hath honoured the way of the sea, Beyond the Jordan,
Galilee of the nations.
The time of the land, the age of Nebuchadnezzar's
dominion,
Jeremiah 27:
6 `And now, I -- I have given all these lands into
the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, My servant,
and also the beast of the field I have given to him to
serve him;
7 And served him have all the nations, and his son,
and his son's son, till the coming in of the time of
his land, also it; and done service for him have many
nations and great kings.
... are there references that would tend to cause us to
understand this as a single year???...
