For Ezra had devoted himself to the study and observance of the Law of the LORD, and to teaching its decrees and laws in Israel.

Ezra 7:10


Read the   Book of Ezra   and then answer the following questions:

  1. What reason is given for the rebuilding of Jerusalem?
  2. Who returns? Who leads? Who doesn't return?
  3. When does the retoration begin? How long have they been working on it by the time Ezra arrives on the scene?
  4. Who are the prophets which play a role in this time period?
  5. In Ezra 3:12 we read of mourning when the foundation of the temple is laid. Why this? What is offered them as consolation?
  6. What's the big deal about mixed marriages (ch 9 and 10)?
