Too Hot for ChiliThe KMB Senior Youth continue to have a presence on Thursday nights outside of Kitchener City Hall. In Winter they were serving free chili and hot chocolate to hungry passersby, but as the weather has gotten warmer they are changing the menu to sandwiches. It is sobering to see how hungry people are for these free meals. Joseph Wilton commented on seeing one man eat 4 sandwiches and take away 3 more. This led Joseph to believe that the man had not have eaten for a few days. "It makes me feel good to feed people," said Joseph. "We are meeting real needs." More than offering food, the youth who staff the table are experiencing some of the street life at City Hall. Some of them join in friendly Hackey Sac games and they have been onlookers to the Serbian demonstrations which have gone on since the military action began in Kosovo. by Lynn Graham Editor's Note: KMB Youth, thank you for being an example of Christian faith in action. I'm honoured to worship with you. |
